Leadership

Leadership is it for you? When you first join Air Cadets the idea of leading a team of people may be completely alien to you. You will find yourself surrounded by leaders – the Cadet NCOs and Staff, so why bother?

As your experience in Air Cadets grows you may find yourself called upon to help out with leading. Initially we may ask you to take control of a small group of cadets as part of an activity say an initiative exercise or being a mentor for a new cadet. In fieldcraft you may find yourself taking control of small groups of cadets as part of the exercise. All this is valuable leadership experience.

Once you have developed a taste for leading people your Squadron Commander may give you the opportunity to become a Non-Commissioned Officer. Now the leadership is official. You have to lead cadets and with that comes responsibility as well.
