Together we raised an excellent figure of £333.78, this money goes to the purchase of equipment used by the Squadron to deliver its varied activities.

QAIC 9 – Sep 2016/Apr 2017
Cdt’s are invited to apply for:
- QUALIFIED AEROSPACE INSTRUCTORS COURSE (QAIC) – QAIC No. 9 SEP 2016 TO APR 2017 AT RAF LINTON ON OUSE AND MOD BOSCOMBE DOWN.
Eligibility criteria are as follows:
a. At least 16 years of age on 02 Sep 16
b. Under 19 years of age on the 01 Oct 16
c. Master Cadet
d. Grade C GCSE (actual or predicted) in Maths and English
e. Able to access an internet connection and have an email address
f. Have a keen interest in aerospace subjects
g. Be willing to use the QAI qualification to instruct at squadron, wing and regional activities
h. Be able to meet the £200 cost of the course from personal or squadron funds
The course will be operated from two separate centres; RAF Linton on Ouse and MOD Boscombe Down. Candidates will be allocated to either Linton or Boscombe Down according to the shortest travelling time. Both centres operate to the same training materials and deliver the same learning outcomes.
Candidates should give due consideration to their ability to travel by train on Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon during course weekend dates before submitting an application.
Suitable applicants will be invited to attend a selection weekend at either RAF Linton on Ouse or MOD Boscombe Down during the weekend 02-04 Sep 16 (cost £10). The selection weekend will comprise:
a. 5 minute presentation using PowerPoint (applicants should prepare a presentation on a subject of their choice)
b. Interview
c. RAF and CCF/ATC knowledge quiz (applicants should have a general knowledge of the structure and of the CCF/ATC and the aircraft, locations and operations of the RAF)
d. Command tasks
e. Flight Simulator test (no previous knowledge required)
f. Air Traffic Simulator test (no previous knowledge required)

Cadets should be aware that placing first or second in their event may qualify them to represent the Region on Saturday 25th June at RAF Cosford.
