Relay For Life is coming up on the 12th – 13th July. We require as many cadets as possible for this weekend to not only be a part of the team participating in the 24 hour event as well as volunteers to assist.

This is an event to raise money for Cancer Research UK and as we have previously won the ‘Shining Star’ award from this event, we are a key part of the whole event.

Any cadets can attend and you don’t have to come for the whole weekend.

Details

The Qualified Aerospace Instructors Course (QAIC) aims to deliver an exciting
programme of aerospace related activities for senior cadets.

The course will take place over a series of weekend from September 2014 to April
2015 culminating in a week long graduation camp. All of theses weekends will be
based at the Regional Activity Centres at RAF Linton-On-Ouse or MoD Boscombe
Down.

Selection
Selection for the QAIC is in two stages. The first is a paper application by the
candidates to be sent to qaic@aircadets.org through their OC by 25 Jul 14.

Successful applicants will then be asked to attend a selection weekend at either
RAF Linton-on-Ouse or MoD Boscombe Down, (depending on their geographical
location) on the 5-7 Sep 2014, where candidates will go through a series of
assessments.
Assessment includes a 5 minute presentation, interview, tests on the flight
simulator and air traffic simulator, leadership exercises, discussions and an ATC /
RAF knowledge quiz.
Candidates will be debriefed on their performance at the conclusion of the
weekend.

Training Weekends
Training will be delivered over a series of weekend sessions based at the activity
centres. QAIC Students will be accommodated in the centre itself and messing will
be provided by the Junior Ranks Mess.
These training weekends will cover the entire syllabus for the course. It will be
stimulating, demanding and delivered by qualified specialists in a number of fields.
Students will be expected to carry out additional work away from the course.
The cost of the course will be £190 which covers all food and accommodation,
visits, course T-shirts & badges and the graduation dinner.
In order to get the most from the training, students need to be extremely committed
and it is a requirement that they attend all of the weekends and graduation camp.
We need mature, disciplined individuals who have the drive and commitment to
complete the course to become Qualified Aerospace Instructors.

Course Outcomes
Cadets who successfully complete QAIC will be designated as Qualified Aerospace
Instructors (QAI’s) and be presented with the coveted QAI badge and Blue
Lanyard.
Additionally on successful completion of workbooks, students will be awarded a
Level 2 ILM Certificate in Team Working.

These cadets will be qualified to run and
instruct in the Regional Activity Centre and
on the Air Cadet Community Engagement
Platforms.
They will have experience in creating and
delivering interactive presentations on a
wide-array of aerospace and air power
related subjects for use on Squadrons and
Wings.
The course will take place over a series of weekend from September 2014 to April
2015 culminating in a week long graduation camp. All of theses weekends will be
