GVC (Girls venture Corps) work experience course at RAF Halton

Work Experience  Comments Off on GVC (Girls venture Corps) work experience course at RAF Halton
Sep 042013

Dorset & Wilts Wing has been offered 2 places on a GVC (Girls venture Corps) work experience course at RAF Halton. The place is for female cadets and will take place over Oct Half Term. The work experience is with the Logistics dept.
If we can’t fill these places they will be offered to other Wings, so Region HQ need to know as soon as possible if we can’t fill the places.
The placement runs from Sun pm 27 Oct until Fri 1 Nov 13. It is a logistics based programme but with added value in terms of team building, PDT, a British Science Association CREST Award project and the usual fitness test etc etc. It is based on the Cosford Engineering model, developed by us in the RAF College and aimed at inspiring girls to consider non-traditional, technical career paths, ideally with the RAF in mind. The placements are very well received and cadets find it highly valuable. The content is aimed at around year 10/11 though there will be a couple of older GVCAC cadets to help mentor through the week. No classification beyond an interest in doing something different and a keenness to learn.
Any female cadets that meet the above criteria and can definitely attend the course should email oc.2358@aircadets.org please note that this will only allow OIC to enter you into the selection process for the course and does not guarantee a place on the course.
