Wing Conference

News Letter  Comments Off on Wing Conference
Apr 152012

On the 15/04/2012, all staff members from 2358 attended the Wing Conference at RAF Boscombe Down.

The Wing Conference is a yearly gathering of all Officers and NCO to discus various changes that will be happening with in the next year which will effect the cadets.

This year the two main changes are the conversion from Drill ACP 19 to Drill AP181, and the new Region and Wing websites which will be up and running in the not to distant future.

The drill conversion is going to be the most challenging, as its not just the cadets who will have to re-learn aquite a fewf moves but also the members of staff, who have been teaching out of ACP 19 for the last …..! years. It has been known that some staff members sleep with ACP 19 under their pillow!.

The aim of the new web site is to make the ATC more sociable interactive, with links to Facebook and Twitter. This is to broaden the ATC “Fan Base” so to speak, and to possibly be noticed by large companies who are willing to support the ATC.

Our squadron website will eventually be linked to the Regions and Wings website which means we will get more publicity and support as well .

Although we enjoyed the day it was typical of the UK weather to be a lovely sunny day where as saturday had been poring with rain.
