On Sunday 23 June the Squadron Staff got together for a Training Day.  Each member of staff delivered training during the day.

The Training Day covereda wide variety of subjects with practical exercises and tests to keep us on our toes.  Subjects covered included:

• Drill
• The BADER System
• First Aid
• First Class Training
• Fieldcraft

The day was enjoyed by all the staff that attended and we all felt that we had learnt something and refreshed some of our skills.

Please note that HQ Air Cadets have issued a new set of Consent Forms for Cadets and Staff taking part in activities.  These forms MUST be used for all activities and the old CC1 through CC4 forms are no longer acceptable.

The Squadron will be holdinv an Open Evening on Monday 22 April 2013.  Although this is normally for new recruits, this year we will be opening up the evening to your Parents/Guardians.

They will have achance to see what you get up to and meet the cadets and some of the staff. Please make your parents aware of the evening.

For visitors the evening will run from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

In order to streamline the process of applying for courses and reduce the administration burden we have set up a new application process on the website.

This will allow cadets apply for courses, confirm they have accepted a place on a course and if necessary cancel their attendance on courses.

Please note that this applies to courses held at Wing level and above, Squadron  courses and events will continue to be managed using the Events Folder.

Also a reminder that places on many courses are a rare resource nowadays and that cadets should have checked throughly that they are able to fully commit before confirming their attendance on a course.
