The Squadron will be hosting cadets bound for Jersey Camp overnight on Tuesday 14 August 2012. This will require the erection of both our 12×12 tents before 1730 and taking down the tents the following morining shortly after 0730. This is particularlu important as the grass area around the hut is a building site and we do not want the tents squashed by a digger! We have two cadets attending the camp so this will be helping them out.
Therefore I am looking for volunteers to assist with putting the tents up on Tuesday 14th August from about 1630 to 1730, and then to assist in taking them down again on the morning of Wednesday 15 th August from about 0700 to 0800. Iknow its early in the morning but it is the school holidays so you can have a lie in the following day!

As promised further details of the course:
The purpose of this course is to develop the leadership skills of the NCOs and Senior cadets on the Squadron. It does not replace the WIng JNCO and SNCO Courses, nor does it give any extra status to cadets who are not NCOs attending the course.
The course will run from 0900 on Saturday to 1600 on Sunday. Dress will be CS95 throughout the weekend, cost will be £10.00 to cover food for the weekend. Joining Instructions will be posted shortly.
The weekend will consist of leadership lessons, drill instruction, a night exercise and leadership command tasks. There is no assessment for the course or tests, students will be given feedback throughout the weekend as the aim of the course is to develop leadership skills not to test them.
We will be joined by cadets from 130 and 149 Squadrons.
All NCOs are invited to attend the course.

The Squadron will be running a Leadership/Development Course for Cadet NCOs and Senior Cadets (who will be invited to attend the course). The course will focus on NCO Development for the NCOs and Personal Development and Leadership for the Senior Cadets.
NCOs should attend if possible.

All cadets going to splashdown, need to make thier own way there and be there for 19:00. the finish time will be 21:00 and will need to make thier own way back.

I would like to thank all those cadets who turned out to help with the Raffle Ticket selling over the weekend. Apparently nearly all tickets were sold – total still to be calculated.

There will be the opportunity for cadets and staff to participate in visits to RFA Mounts Bay which will be anchored off Bournemouth Pier during the Air Festival. Currently we have allocations for 15 cadets and 2 staff on three days for a 24 hour visit to the ship. During the course of the visit, cadets will participate in a range of activities as well as view the airshow from a unique location. Staff will be required to supervise cadets and also participate in activities. one of the activities will be initial weapons instruction on the L98A2 (RL1 and 2) and any WI or SAAI interested are requested to contact Sqn Ldr Bodger ASAP to discuss further details.

This Saturday is the Charity Dog Show at Three Legged Cross . Below is the link to thier website wher you can find directions to the event. All cadets helping out at the show will be expected to make thier own way up, if there is any difficulties in doing this please see Sgt Roberton on Friday.
