I would like to thank those cadets and staff who turned out for the Civic Service at St Mary’s Church today. The Mayor of Ferndown has asked me to pass on his personal thanks to the cadets and we received many compliments on how smart you all looked and how well the banner party performed. So well done guys.

Congratulations go to FS Matthew Souden for completing the Selection Phase to get onto Junior Leaders Course Number 14. Although he has a tough course ahead of him he has sucessfully completed the Selection Weekend to gain a place on this prestigious course, continuing the 2358 tradition of having cadets represent the Squadron on the Course.

On Monday 27 August Air Cadets from 2358 (Ferndown) and 149 (Poole) Squadrons got together to help raise funds for the JTYAF. Many of the cadets have flown in Aircraft and Gliders before but having to pull an aeroplane was a new experience for them.
Especially as this was a giagantic bright red Boeing 737 cargo aircraft owned by the Post Office! The team took up the strain and pulled for all they were worth getting a time of 49 seconds for the pull. Between them the team raised £820.00 for the JTYAF a great achievement for the cadets.
The JTYAF supports Air Cadets from Dorset and Wiltshire Wing by providing them with scholarships and bursaries to support their personal development and the pursuit of their ambitions.
I would like to personally thank all those cadets who turned out for the Dorset Plane Pull. Both to pull the aircraft and help the smooth running of the event.
Peter and Linda Thornton of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation have asked me to pass on their thanks for your efforts on the day. The Squadron mananged to raise a whopping £575.00 for the JTYAF and this combined with 149 Poole Squadron raised an overall amount of £819.85.
