Memorial Dedication to Flt Lt Jon Egging Red Arrows Cadets Required 29 Aug 12

Parade, Urgent, Wing Event  Comments Off on Memorial Dedication to Flt Lt Jon Egging Red Arrows Cadets Required 29 Aug 12
Aug 162012

There will be a dedication service in Bournemouth on Wednesday 29 August for the memorial to Flt Lt Jon Egging of the RAFAT. This is being hosted by the Mayor of Bournemouth and Dr Emma Egging of the Jon Egging Trust.
There will be a reception at the Miramar Hotel, followed by the unveiling of the memorial and return to the Miramar Hotel on the East Cliff. At the request of Dr Egging and Bournemouth Council, we have been asked to provide cadets to line the route from the hotel to the memorial and back, in recognition of the link to both the RAF and the Air Cadets and the goals of the Jon Egging Trust.
Following a recce with WO Hutchinson (SE Sector WO) and WO Green (OIC130) yesterday, we have concluded that ideally 50 cadets will be required along with supervisory staff in the ratio of at least 1:10.
Dress for the day will be Wedgewood Blue with Tie, No1 for staff.
Arrival on site will be approximately 1230 and all activities are expected to be concluded by 1430.
Any cadets interested in supporting this event should put their names forward on Friday night.

Helping JTYAF Get to 1664

Squadron Event, Urgent  Comments Off on Helping JTYAF Get to 1664
May 012012

Please see the email below from JTYAF.  They are trying to get 1664 email addresses for the distribution of their News Letter.  Note that this is not an Official ATC request but I have posted it here as the JTYAF supports Dorset and Wilts Wing and many cadets on this Squadon have benefited from the charity.

Dear Ladies and Gents,
The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation has been lucky enough to secure one years free email marketing services, from local company TMB, who are producing a monthly e-newsletter for us and sending it to all our supporters.
The e-newsletter has been extremely successful and the most recent edition which was sent out on 18th April has achieved the best open rate so far. The e-newsletter has resulted in a huge increase in interest on the JTYAF website and with access to the TMB Report Centre, the JTYAF can use the valuable information available to inform future editions.
In order to maximise the benefits of this superb opportunity the JTYAF is on a mission to increase the number of supporters on their email database.
‘Project 1664’ will be launched on 1st May, with the aim of increasing the number of JTYAF email contacts by 1,664.
Why 1664?  Well 1664 was John’s lucky number and special to him because it was the year that the Royal Marines was established.  John was a Royal Marine through and through and it seems very appropriate to use the number most significant to him for this project.  There is also the obvious link with Kronenbourg as 1664 was coincidently the year that the famous brewery was founded.  The JTYAF are offering a prize of a crate of Kronenbourg to the 1,664th email contact added to our database.
We need as much help as we can get to achieve our target of an additional 1664 contacts.  As a supported organisation we would be very grateful if you could help by approaching all your staff and either let them know that they can sign up for the newsletter on our website www.jtyaf.org or alternatively with their permission pass their details onto us.
If you produce your own newsletter for students/parents/customers would it be at all possible for the JTYAF to have a small slot for a few issues.  Just 60 words.  If your newsletter is sent out electronically we would add a widget that will provide the opportunity to sign up for the newsletter with just one click.
We would like to assure you that only the JTYAF will use any email addresses that you provide and purely for the e-newsletter, there will be no other emails.
Many thanks for your support.
Kind regards,
Linda

Helping JTYAF with Fund Raising Sunday 26/02/12 10:00-12:30

Squadron Event, Urgent  Comments Off on Helping JTYAF with Fund Raising Sunday 26/02/12 10:00-12:30
Feb 182012

We have been invited by the JTYAF to assist them with fund raising at the Poole Twin Sails Bridge event on Sunday 26 Feb 12 from 10:00 to 12:30.  I am looking for about 4 cadets to help out.  The Squadron has strong ties to the JTYAF and many of our cadets past and present have benefitted from the charity so I am sure we won’t have a shortage of volunteers.  Update on Monday.  Cadets should be aged 16+
