Wing have notified Squadron of possible places available on Ramstein Camp in Germany from 19 – 26 Aug 2013. There are potentially 4 places available for SW Region.

The cost of the Camp will be in the region of £100.00. Additional funding should be available through the JTYAF. Applicants must be aged 15 on the date of the camp, Leading cadet and have attend a UK Camp or similar cadet activity. They must have a valid passport and EHIC card.

Time is important here so you should only apply if you can definitely attend the camp. You should also understand that there is no guarantee of a place as this is open to the entire SW Region of the ATC.

Those who wish to apply should email oc.2358@aircadets.org as soon as possible.

Wing HQ have asked for Summer Camp Bids from all Squadrons. We will be putting a notice in the end room where you can add your bid and your preference. The notice will be up for the evenings of 26 and 29 April only.

Based on your response the Squadron will bid for a number of PLACES on different camps. Please note that entering a bid does NOT garuantee you a place on camp and the final decision to send cadets on camps rests with the OIC.

Summer Camps are as follows:

RAF Marham – 6-13 July
RAF Marham – 13 – 20 July
RAF Northolt – 27 Jul – 3 August
RAF Northolt – 3 – 10 August

Please make sure that you enter your bid on the notice if you wish to attend camp.

Please note that HQ Air Cadets have issued a new set of Consent Forms for Cadets and Staff taking part in activities.  These forms MUST be used for all activities and the old CC1 through CC4 forms are no longer acceptable.

The Squadron will be holdinv an Open Evening on Monday 22 April 2013.  Although this is normally for new recruits, this year we will be opening up the evening to your Parents/Guardians.

They will have achance to see what you get up to and meet the cadets and some of the staff. Please make your parents aware of the evening.

For visitors the evening will run from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

Congratulations to Cadet Warrant Officer Matthew Souden who has sucessfully graduated from the Junior Leaders Course today.
This is one of the toughest courses avaiable within cadets and CWO Souden has spent many weekends in freezing and arduous conditions. The course ends with Grad Week, 8 days living in the field conducting operations 24/7 against an enemy force.

CWO Souden continues a long tradition of Ferndown cadets graduating from the course.
