For those of you that missed the opportunity to engage with the team at Christchurch Squadron, Sgt Metcalfe and CI Seeley from 874 (Sherborne) Squadron will be visiting tonight.  Ten Tors is a great opportunity to build up your Adventure Training, navigation, teamwork and leadership skills walking in challenging conditions across Dartmoor.  Training will be relatively local based in Dorset, out and about around the Blandford area.

I would like to personally thank all the Cadets and Staff who took part in today’s Remembrance Day Parades in West Moors and Ferndown. Your turnout and marching were to a high standard and I received very good feedback from the both the civilian and military sides of the organisers.

No. 2 shooting opportunity at Blandford Camp. You must have completed the No. 2 Initial Weapon Training (IWT) on this platform, Weapon Handling Tests (WHT) can be done on the day if need be. Limited places priority will be to the cadets who have not shot before and meets criteria.

The Squadron will be taking part in Remembrance Day Parades at West Moors and Ferndown on Sunday 08 Nov 15.

Dress

Uniform for Staff is No 1 Service Dress with medals and poppy.

Uniform for Cadets is :

  • No 2 SD (Full) (Long sleeved light blue shirt, black tie, and jumpers)
  • Ensure that you bring Jeltex Jackets if you are in Uniform
  • For those cadets who have yet been issued blues, smart CS95/MTP with (polished) boots and beret
  • For those without uniform, smart school uniform can be worn.

Cadets are to ensure that they have a poppy and change for the collection.  Phones are to be put on silent before the services.

Banner Bearer to ensure that Banner is present with appropriate equipment for both parades

CWO N-P to ensure that wreaths are available for both parades and that the personnel laying the wreath have been correctly briefed

West Moors Parade

Arrive at  Riverside Road, West Moors at 1000 hrs to form up for a 1030 march off.  Parade will conclude by about 1230 hrs.

Ferndown Parade

Arrive at  Peter Grant Way, Ferndown at 13:50hrs to form up for a 14:15 march off.  Parade will conclude by about 1700 hrs.
