Cadets should only apply who can definitely commit to the dates of the camp.

This opportunity operates outside of the Air Cadet Organisation and therefor must be applied for independently.
Eligibility Criteria is for Cadets who are –
- Between the ages of 17 and 20 and interested in becoming a pilot or observer (Potentially for the Navy)
- A British citizen
- In full time education at school, university or college.

QAIC 9 – Sep 2016/Apr 2017
Cdt’s are invited to apply for:
- QUALIFIED AEROSPACE INSTRUCTORS COURSE (QAIC) – QAIC No. 9 SEP 2016 TO APR 2017 AT RAF LINTON ON OUSE AND MOD BOSCOMBE DOWN.
Eligibility criteria are as follows:
a. At least 16 years of age on 02 Sep 16
b. Under 19 years of age on the 01 Oct 16
c. Master Cadet
d. Grade C GCSE (actual or predicted) in Maths and English
e. Able to access an internet connection and have an email address
f. Have a keen interest in aerospace subjects
g. Be willing to use the QAI qualification to instruct at squadron, wing and regional activities
h. Be able to meet the £200 cost of the course from personal or squadron funds
The course will be operated from two separate centres; RAF Linton on Ouse and MOD Boscombe Down. Candidates will be allocated to either Linton or Boscombe Down according to the shortest travelling time. Both centres operate to the same training materials and deliver the same learning outcomes.
Candidates should give due consideration to their ability to travel by train on Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon during course weekend dates before submitting an application.
Suitable applicants will be invited to attend a selection weekend at either RAF Linton on Ouse or MOD Boscombe Down during the weekend 02-04 Sep 16 (cost £10). The selection weekend will comprise:
a. 5 minute presentation using PowerPoint (applicants should prepare a presentation on a subject of their choice)
b. Interview
c. RAF and CCF/ATC knowledge quiz (applicants should have a general knowledge of the structure and of the CCF/ATC and the aircraft, locations and operations of the RAF)
d. Command tasks
e. Flight Simulator test (no previous knowledge required)
f. Air Traffic Simulator test (no previous knowledge required)

The following Cadets have been selected to represent Dorset & Wiltshire Wing ATC, at the Inter-Wing Athletics Competition, to be held at Tidworth Oval on Sunday 5th Jun

In the first instance the Cadets named above should confirm asap that they plan to attend the event, by email or during the next Parade Evening.
Transport will be arranged, further Joining Instructions will follow.
Cadets should be aware that placing first or second in their event may qualify them to represent the Region on Saturday 25th June at RAF Cosford.

Muddy Fun Run – JTYAF Support
For those cadets who are interested in helping to marshal a the Muddy Fun Run this Saturday (21st), arrival at Homeland Farm, Three Legged Cross, BH216QZ for 09:30, the run is set to start for 10:30 and finish between 13:30-1400 hours.
JI’s attached to this post, all usual ATC forms are required.
